Community Involvement

Our Community Involvement

At DarrasLaw, we are proud of our compassion and dedication to the disabled and the local community. That’s why our “pay it forward” mentality isn’t just a business philosophy, but also a way of life.

In addition to offering a variety of free services to disabled clients, our attorneys and staff donate a combination of physical, emotional and financial support to very worthy causes. DarrasLaw is proud to support a variety of organizations we hold dear, including some highlighted below:

National MS Society

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds cutting-edge research, facilitates professional education and provides programs and services that help those affected by MS move forward.

We offer free advice, claim help and policy analysis to all those affiliated with the MS Society. Our staff also supports the organization through donations and participation in local MS Walks to honor family members and friends who live with MS.

Children’s Advocacy Center

Childrens Advocacy Center for Child Abuse Assessment and TreatmentThe Children’s Advocacy Center for Child Abuse Assessment and Treatment provides critical services to children who are survivors of physical and sexual abuse. The organization strives to promote a sense of safety, trauma reduction and consistency to young sexual assault and abuse survivors and their non-offending family members.

DarrasLaw believes strongly in the mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center and provides continued financial support to the local center based in Covina, California. This center has helped thousands of children and family members since it opened in 2004 and aims to expand the scope of its positive influence in the years ahead.

CASA of San Bernardino County

Court Appointed Special Advocates - San Bernandino CountyDarrasLaw proudly supports Court Appointed Special Advocates, which aims to improve the quality of life for foster youth and juvenile offenders through stable, consistent advocacy and mentoring provided through trained community volunteers.

Less than half of youth in foster care graduate from high school, which impacts their long-term economic prospects. CASA’s goal is to help increase the high school graduation rate for foster youth through mentoring.

One of our attorneys is a proud Court Appointed Special Advocate for San Bernardino County and dedicated to the mission of fostering positive change in young lives through her mentorship.

Kids Come First for Health

Kids Come FIrst for HealthKids Come First provides high quality, low cost health and wellness services to the children of the Inland Empire Community. These services include free or low-cost care to children with “safety net” coverage or no insurance and access to specialized health care, mental health and social services.

We are proud to have two DarrasLaw staff members serve on this organization’s executive board. In addition to volunteered time, DarrasLaw also supports Kids Come First through donated goods.

The firm provided themed gift packages for Kids Come First as part of its 2014 holiday giving program. These prizes were raffled off to children at the organization’s holiday party. The lucky winners walked away with complete sets of athletic gear, art sets and more, courtesy of DarrasLaw.

Friends of Orange County’s Homeless Pets

Friends of Orange Countys Homeless PetsFOCHP is a nonprofit that is missioned to make homeless and unwanted pets more adoptable and provide them with the opportunity to find their “forever families.” These efforts include training, veterinary services, spay and neuter assistance and rescue.

DarrasLaw supports FOCHP through long-time volunteer involvement, adoption and fostering of pets, and through donated supplies.

As part of its 2014 holiday giving program, the DarrasLaw staff sponsored animals from Friends of Orange County’s Homeless Pets and provided food and supplies for their selected pet. Other Involvements

DarrasLaw collaborated with Girl Scouts Troop 7964 to create holiday care packages for troops stationed in Afghanistan. The effort began as a way to support one DarrasLaw staff member’s brother, but quickly grew to include his entire unit.

Every member of our firm donated time, money and goods to create a truly special holiday experience for the unit. Each of the 32 soldiers received a care package that included a DVD player, movies, toiletries, snacks and games. In an effort to provide additional holiday cheer, we also sent the troops a Christmas tree, complete with handmade ornaments from the Girl Scouts.
