How to deal with a denied individual disability insurance claim

Nobody dreams of the day when they can make an individual disability insurance claim. If you find yourself faced with this, it means that you have been injured or become so ill that you are unable to work.

Just because your individual disability insurance claim was denied does not mean you should give up. Instead, you should learn more about your rights and how to get the money you deserve.

The first thing you should do is learn more about the appeal process. Some policies require that you appeal the decision, but this is not always the case. It is imperative to read the policy to better understand what is expected of you.

Once you file an appeal, there is nothing else you can do at the present time. That being said, it would be in your best interest to check in often on the status of your claim. This shows the insurance company that you are not going away. It may also push the process forward in a timely manner, which is important as you are not able to work to earn money.

Have you filed an individual disability insurance claim? Has it been denied? If you answered yes to both these questions, it is time to learn more about your options and which strategy to follow.

Our attorneys know what you should and should not be doing. We can also review your policy to ensure that you make all the right decisions. You can learn more by contacting us online or via phone. Either way, we are here to help.
