Disability insurance in addition to health insurance

Many people are under the impression that health insurance is more than enough to deal with any medical problem that comes into their life. While this is true in regards to receiving treatment, there is something else to consider: You may run into an injury or illness that keeps you out of work for an extended period of time.

If this happens, your health insurance policy cannot do anything for you. Instead, you will be out of work and unable to earn money. This is a problem for most people.

For this reason, a growing number of people are looking into the benefits of buying disability insurance in addition to health insurance.

With individual disability coverage, you will receive a percentage of your monthly earnings if you are unable to work. This typically works out to 60 to 70 percent of your salary.

Furthermore, if you pay for the premiums on your own, not through a business, the benefits are tax free.

The only problem with disability insurance is that there could come a time when you make a claim, just to have it denied by the insurance company. Of course, this is no reason to avoid coverage.

If you run into a situation in which your disability insurance claim is denied, it is time to fight back against your provider. We know what it takes to put you in position to receive benefits sooner rather than later. If you require any assistance, reach out to us online or via phone. This may be the first step you take in getting the money you deserve.
