Frank N. Darras, Insurance Lawyer to College and Pro Athletes, Extends Helping Hand to Young Players During the Holidays

As the leading insurance law firm to elite college and pro athletes, DarrasLaw sees the importance of athletics from an early age. This month, the firm’s pay-it-forward business strategy has one special goal: to help children “play it forward” with new baseball equipment. As part of its holiday giving, DarrasLaw is honoring young athletes across America through the Pitch In For Baseball organization.

“There is a troubling financial gap that prevents many children from playing the sport they love,” says Frank Darras, insurance lawyer to elite college and pro athletes. “Some of these children could be future all-stars who won’t play because they lack the right equipment. Organizations like Pitch In For Baseball can level the playing field, and we’re honored to support them this holiday season.”

DarrasLaw donated new, custom-made baseballs as well as the funding to supply two full teams with uniforms and equipment. This donation, along with others made to Pitch In For Baseball, will be distributed through one of the organizations three key programs:

Domestic and international equipment grants – These grants are designed to help leagues, teams, and community organizations around the globe get the equipment needed to play baseball or softball.

School based program – PIFB partners with schools and districts to start, continue or expand baseball and/or softball programs amidst growing budget deficits.

Disaster relief program – Children who are affected by tragedy can find that baseball helps restore a sense of normalcy amidst chaos. PIFB has helped dozens of communities around the globe including NY/NJ shoreline following Hurricane Sandy, Joplin, MO,. the Gulf Coast region and Japan.

“We have helped countless college and professional athletes recover their wrongfully denied insurance benefits,” Darras says. “We work hard every day to fight for the athlete’s right to the disability or drop in slot protection benefits he or she paid for and deserve. Children deprived of the right to play because they lack equipment also deserve strong advocates. We’re giving these children the chance to be active, healthy and engaged by playing the sport they love. I can’t think of a better way to give back to the young superstars-to-be in our athletic community.”
